The picture above is one of my favorites. I snapped it in 2004 on a warm July day in Kampala, Africa. Our mission team was out enjoying one of our "days off" from the build site. We were visiting a tomb which held the remains of the Buganda Kings of Kasubi, now designated a UNESCO world heritage site. Sounded pretty impressive. The real treat were these children who came to the parking lot as we were leaving. They were hoping for some candy or "sweeties" and did not go away disappointed.
You can also see it here. Compassion chose to feature it on their "share your heart" page. I urge you to check out the rest of their website while you are there - they are doing some pretty amazing things to fight poverty, not only in Uganda but all over the world.
